The transcription of burial registers is a often neglected task but can provide a wealth of detail. These registers have been transcribed by myself double checked and compared to the bishops transcripts. I have taken the up most care with the transcription but of course cannot guarantee the accuracy. As with all indices and transcriptions the user is advised to check the data personally.

This transcription  is in alphabetical order using standard  surnames in order to group various spellings together. Because of this, some names will appear to be out of sequence i.e. Joyce will be listed with Choyce / Choice, Jilliver with Gilliver , Right with Wright etc. The standard surnames are similar to those used by LDS resource files, minor alterations to account for local variations have been applied. (A * following a surname indicates these)

Dates are as entered, no correction has been applied to pre 1752 dates.

All detail has been transcribed from the register. The Notes column includes any extra detail from the register entered in “quotes”. Entries not in quotes are where I have referred to other sources to fix difficult names. A # by a name indicates that name was either missing or impossible to read and has been assumed from other sources, these  will be found in the notes column.  In the post 1813 register it was common to enter the exact age of infants in the age column rather than years. This detail where entered, will be found in the notes column but not in “quotes".

(If memorials are included)) Linkage to the memorial transcription is provided from the memorial's unique number M/N , the memorial page will open in a new window and each memorial is book marked so should appear at the top of the page. Just close the window to return to the burial transcription.

The Link PCC probate is a list of those wills proved at the PCC and included in the PROB 11 class of records. Visit here for a full explanation.
